St Wilfrid’s Nursery is for 3 and 4-year-old children. This is a brand new and exciting environment providing a stepping stone into developing key skills that will make children confident and enthusiastic learners in the preparation for starting school.
Our caring and experienced team aims to expand on the opportunities and experiences that each child has, whilst We put nature and outdoor play at the heart of what we do. Children will have access to our wonderful outdoor environment including our school woods. We have an outdoor mud kitchen, giant sandpit, scooters, climbing equipment and a play house, providing a secure, fun and supportive environment where children can grow emotionally, socially and creatively.
This week we have really enjoyed listening to the book 'A Busy Day for the Birds' and learning about British birds. We loved making bird feeders and hanging them in our woods. We loved exploring different parts of our school grounds too. On our walk, we looked for signs of winter and listened to the different noises. We have also enjoyed singing the song '1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive.' We have been catching fish and counting up to 5. Here are some photos of our week so far.

Another busy week in nursery! Our rhyme of the week was Incy Wincy Spider. We loved learning the rhyme, making spiders, and weaving our own spider webs. We loved retelling the rhyme and learning lots of new words describing the rain like downpour and drizzle. Our story of the week was 'Polar Bear, Polar bear, what do you hear?' It was fun making all the different animal noises that the polar bear heard. We used a drum to work out the syllables of the animals too. Have a lovely weekend everyone! Here are some photos of our week...
