    St Wilfrid's School is an academy and has charitable status.  The school is part of the St Clare Multi Academy Trust and has a Local Academy Committee of Governors.

    The Local Academy Committee has responsibility for raising school standards through their 3 key roles of:

    • setting strategic direction
    • ensuring accountability 
    • acting as a 'critical friend'

    The headteacher is responsible for the day to day management of the school. The role of the Local Academy Committee is to provide strategic management supporting the work of the headteacher.
