Today we celebrated a special penitential service to mark the season of Lent.
We were blessed to have Fr Cooke lead our penitential service to help us prepare our hearts this Lent. Our chaplaincy team shared an examination of conscience to help us reflect on areas we have fallen short. We heard the story of Zacchaeus and how he was changed and chose to turn away from sin through his encounter with Jesus. The children had thoughtfully prepared something that they wanted to say sorry for, writing it privately on a piece of paper. These were collected by the chaplaincy team and Fr Cooke placed them in bowls of water to remind us powerfully that Jesus washes away our sins. The children joined in the service so respectfully and it was a wonderful occasion for us to make things right with God and turn back to Him this Lent.
