The St Wilfrid's Chaplaincy Team joined schools from the St Clare CMAT for the Trust Mass at the Cathedral on the 17th October.
October 12th is St Wilfrid's Feast day. To celebrate our school saint, the children learnt about St Wilfrid and had extra play time!
The Chaplaincy Team led an assembly on St Wilfrid explaining his significance and impact.
The Chaplaincy Team met to discuss plans for the year. They have some great ideas and are keen to get started.
On Friday 3rd October, Jenny, a volunteer from CAFOD came into school to lead an assembly to the children to raise awareness about the work of CAFOD. CAFOD stands for the "Catholic Agency for Overseas Development" and works with communities around the world to provide clean water, food, healthcare, skills training and emergency aid in times of disaster. Supporting CAFOD's work is a great way for us all to put love into action, and make an amazing difference to people's lives!
We talked to the children about the impact their donations can have:
For £33 you can buy warm clothes, blankets and essential fuel and food for a family in need.
For £10 you can provide nutritious warm meals and shelter to refugees who have fled their homes due to conflict.
For £6 a struggling family can receive seeds and training on how to care for them so everyone can enjoy a healthy, nutritious diet.
So far, we have raised over £700!!
