Vision Statement
At St Wilfrid’s, every member of staff seeks to do the very best that we can to demonstrate our mission statement that ‘Everybody Matters’. Staff strive for excellence and embrace innovation and improvement.
We are a community, and as such are committed to supporting each other. All members of our community - staff, students, parents and carers, and governors - depend on each other and are valued and loved.
Every person is recognised and celebrated as being unique. Everyone is made in the image and likeness of God, and has a dignity that does not depend on age, gender, race, wealth or any other attributes. In everything we do, we respect this dignity.
As a Catholic school, we have a duty to enable every child to achieve their full potential as a human being. This encompasses every dimension of the child: spiritual, moral, social, academic, physical and artistic. We have the highest academic expectations, and alongside this, teach our children to be good citizens of the world who care for others and have high expectations of themselves. Our aim is that children will leave St Wilfrid’s and go on to enrich society through a positive contribution to their community and beyond. We want them to become life-long learners with an openness to learn from others.
We are an inclusive school. We believe that knowledge and critical thinking empowers and enables children to feel and be successful, and that this is the entitlement of every child.
Our partnership with parents and carers is based on the belief that they are the prime educators of their child. We aim to include them at every stage of their child’s education and to ensure that they feel listened to.
Four core values of Faith, Aspiration, Effort and Respect run through all aspects of our curriculum and school life. Our Catholic ethos underpins everything we do.

We want our children to know God and to love, in the knowledge that ‘love is the measure of faith’ (Pope Francis).
