Safeguarding

Safeguarding is of the utmost importance at St Wilfrid's Primary School. We take our statutory responsibility to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people extremely seriously. All staff work together to safeguard every child in our school community.

If you have any concerns about the health or safety of a child at our school, you should share this information with any appropriate member of staff. Do not worry about reporting small matters - we would rather you tell us things that turn out to be small than miss a worrying situation.

If you think that a child has been or might be harmed, please contact one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads immediately. You can ask any member of staff to find them and ask them to speak to you straight away about a confidential and urgent matter.

You can also phone the Sheffield Safeguarding Hub on 0114 273 4855 (24 hours) to speak to a social worker. If a child is in immediate danger then call 999 for a police response.

We use the Sheffield Safeguarding Board policies and procedures, and apply them to our individual school policies.  A link can be found here.
